Mini Habits

Here are 5 lessons from Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results by Stephen Guise (Author)

1. Start with Ridiculously Small Steps: Guise advocates for setting mini habits that are so small they require minimal motivation to do. For example, doing just one push-up or writing just 50 words. Starting small makes it easier to overcome resistance and build momentum.

2. Consistency Trumps Intensity: Instead of focusing on big, dramatic changes, prioritize consistency. Even if you only do the smallest version of your habit, doing it consistently is more important than doing it with intensity but sporadically.

3. Leverage the Power of Habit Stacking: Habit stacking involves linking new habits to existing ones. By piggybacking off habits you already have, you can make it easier to incorporate new behaviors into your daily routine.

4. Celebrate Every Success: Guise emphasizes the importance of celebrating even the smallest victories. By acknowledging your progress and celebrating your successes, you reinforce positive behavior and stay motivated.

5. Embrace Imperfection: Perfectionism can be a major roadblock to forming habits. Guise encourages embracing imperfection and focusing on progress rather than perfection. It's okay to start small and make gradual improvements over time.
